Lukas Schneider
After graduating from Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach in 2003, Lukas Schneider (*1973) expanded and published his thesis project typeface with the FontFont label under the name FF Utility (2008). He also established his studio, snider-inc., in Frankfurt/M.
Lukas helped to extend the LL Numberplate family by digitising the typefaces from Austria, Finland, and Luxemburg (2010–12). In 2012/13 he attended the MA program for type design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK). Based on research into Renaissance typefaces by Frank E. Blokland, Lukas developed two software tools for auto-spacing that can be used within the font editors Glyphs and RoboFont (2015).
In 2017, he launched his own type foundry, Revolver Type, near Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
