Viktoriya Grabowska
Born in Simferopol, Crimea in 1988, Viktoriya Grabowska graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (now University of Arts) in Poznań, Poland in 2010. She has been running the University’s Type Design Studio with Prof. Krzysztof Kochnowicz ever since, while also teaching at the School of Form.
Following 2012, Viktoriya consulted NORM on the Cyrillic version of their corporate typeface for Swatch watches, and in 2014 she drew the additional ‘Heavy Italic’ cut of LL Replica (2008). For Cornel Windlin’s custom typeface LL Alpha Headline, she drew a Cyrillic adaptation in 2015. In the same year she started to collaborate on several projects with Darden Studio, NY, of which she became a full member in 2019.
Since 2016, Viktoriya has been developing an educational typeface for the blind, called Maria Theresia, which she currently refines in the frame of her PhD research.
More recently, Viktoriya conducted a thorough diacritics revision of the entire LL Unica77 family, collaborated with Aurèle Sack on the Cyrillic version of LL Grey, and created the Cyrillic counterparts to both LL Prismaset font families.
