Kobi Benezri
After studying at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, Kobi Benezri (*1976) moved to New York in 2002 and graduated from the Cooper Union School of Art. As of 2003, he worked with his teacher Nico Schweizer at the International Design Magazine (I.D.), and in 2004, he took over as art director. Among other unpublished font projects, he developed a Hebrew version of LL Gravur Condensed.
In 2008, Kobi founded a Zurich based studio specialising in books, type and logotype design. In the same year, LL Lettera debuted in Phaidon’s graphic design encyclopedia Area 2. Kobi introduced the first version of LL Lettera Text in a book about Dieter Rams in 2011.
Next to serving clients such as Phaidon, Yale University Press, the Whitney Museum and the New York City AIDS Memorial, Kobi has also been working part time as a creative director for Zurich based publisher Diogenes since 2014. New versions of LL Lettera Mono and LL Lettera Text were published in 2019.
